Mutual cooperation started from established top level cooperation with the managing authority of NFC – Ministry of Agriculture Bratislava, together with the State Forests Banská Bystrica, State Forests TANAP in the High Tatras and relevant experts.
Both parties expressed their live interest and intention to mutual cooperation in different forestry sectors. The implementation of the contents will be put in concrete forms via individual agreements. In the year 2011, the International Year of the Forests, meetings will be organised, scientific results negotiated, publications drafted and events implemented.
Slovakia – NFC, Zvolen (December 2010), second visit of the Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz North-Rhine Westphalia, particular cooperation activities elaborated
Professional meetings with NFC experts confirmed joint objectives, a detailed proposal of cooperation activities has been elaborated. The mentoring cooperation and the planned joint visit of the Kolubara Basin (Serbia) were discussed.
Germany - NRW, (January 2011), contract signed
A contract was signed between the Slovak republic represented by the head of the National Forestry Centre and the German State North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), represented by the Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Consumer Protection which thereby is represented by the head of the State Forestry Agency. The LBWuH NRW and NFC Zvolen will elaborate a joint publication about “Impacts of Climate Change on Host - Parasite Interaction in Present and Future Forests”. Publisher: LBWuH
Slovakia – NFC, Zvolen (February 2011), Proposal of NFC to Germany colleagues to participate in the joint project proposal for “Intelligent Energy Europe“, altogether with Czech Republic (Moravian-Silesian Region), and Austria.
